Papier Mâché Tea Caddy

  c.1850/60 English

This superb tea caddy is very fine. Complete with original and working key. It has two compartments, with the remnants of the original silver lining and two lids with Mother-of-Pearl flower knobs. The Mother-of-Pearl inlay on the lid retains much of its over-painting and is exquisite in detail.

A really charming piece.  (Reference: 566)

 

Condition: There has been some minor restoration around the hinges to the back, but otherwise in great condition.
