This is a gorgeous and elegant jewel box, which is a jewel of a piece in itself. It has 5 beautifully decorated porcelain panels, mounted into a gilt frame. Each panel is bordered by enamel 'pearls'. The interior is original and of a padded oyster silk. Each panel depicts magnolia flowers and buds with nectar-seeking insect. Finely painted on a ground of celestial blue.
