A splendid piece of Regency design, influenced by the Classical period, (with two Classical draped figures at the top sides of the mirror) and with Egyptian influences, (the figures running the length of the mirror, with feet at bottom). The colour is a warm buttery gold, these photos make it look rather pale as they were taken on a cloudy day: the actual tone is much warmer. In the centre of the top of the mirror is a lyre and horn motif, popular in French furniture to allude to the arts: this would be perfect in a room which held music and dancing! Of course the wonderful thing about mirrors is that they always play with light as it dances across the surface.
