Davenport Cabaret Service. c.1870-80 ex Zorensky Collection,

All pieces in superb condition. Some very slight rubbing to gilding on porcelain tray. This fabulous Cabaret Service is painted in the Imari palette, a version of the 'Tree of Life' pattern, after Derby. Set comprises: tray, teapot, sucrier & lid, milk jug & lid, 4 cups & saucers. Printed marks and pattern number 2615.

 

The Zorenskys formed 3 notable collections of Wedgwood, Worcester and one formed of Personal Items which incorporated Jeanne's 'Treasured Pieces'. This cabaret service came from that last, Personal Collection. Her Will stipulated that all her pieces be sold at auction, so that they could become the basis of new collections for new Collectors and fire the passion of porcelain collectors of the future.
